restaurant wine list awards

Photograph Guidelines

To enhance our Dining Guide, we are pleased to accept photographs of your restaurant's wine director or sommelier for the 2012 Dining Guide.

Each restaurant may submit one head shot for consideration. If your photo is selected for use in the Dining Guide, you must be willing to fully authorize M. Shanken Communications, Inc. the right to use it without credit.

The photograph must meet the following technical requirements:

  • The head shot should only show the head from the shoulders up, with a small space around the head
  • The file should be at least 5 inches by 7 inches at a resolution of 300 dpi (or approximately 1 MB in size).
  • The file name must include the name of your restaurant and the person's name, eg. AvenueBistroJohnSmith.jpg
  • The file must be submitted to our ftp server. (E-mailed images or hard copies of photographs will not be accepted.)

The deadline to submit your head shot is March 1, 2012. (Restaurant Wine List Awards entries must be received by Feb. 1, 2012.)

FTP Upload Instructions: Before starting, confirm that the photo file's name includes the name of your restaurant and the name of the person pictured. If it does not, you must choose "Save As" and rename it.

In our FTP uploader comments box, please enter the full name and title of the person in the photograph, the full restaurant name, street address, city and state. Also include a contact name and email in case of questions or problems with the file.

Click on the "Browse" button. Locate the photo file on your computer and select it. Once complete, click "Submit File and Comments" and you will received a confirmation message that your upload is complete.

Please note: If you submitted a head shot in the past, we have it on file and will consider it for use in this year's August 31 issue. Only upload new head shots below.
