Now that the October wildfires are over, Napa Valley is back to welcoming visitors. The heart of the valley, where most wine tourism is centered, was largely untouched, and most wineries, restaurants, hotels and other attractions remain open and eager for business to help the region rebound economically. Please call ahead to check hours as they may change seasonally.

When it comes to wine, Napa Valley is California's heartland for quality. With warm, bone-dry summers and cool, wet winters, the climate is ideal for growing powerful Cabernet Sauvignons and a host of other varieties. That Napa Valley is one of the world's most beautiful wine regions as well, defined by rugged mountains flanking a core of iconic vineyards, has given it surpassing cachet.

Yet there is a third factor that makes it especially magnetic: a culture that celebrates the good life. World-class resorts, top dining destinations and inviting wineries with exciting tasting rooms provide something for everyone whose lifestyle embraces wine.

In this guide, we take you to the addresses that help make Napa Valley unique. From the city of Napa in the south to the small town of Calistoga in the north, the doors are open for you to explore and celebrate.
